In 2016, he became the ADCC Asia and Oceania champion, and also won the American Grappling Championship. That same year, Dolidze made his debut as a mixed martial arts fighter and achieved significant success.
In 2019, Roman Dolidze signed a contract with UFC, and his career in this promotion began successfully — during the year he won victories over two opponents, one of whom he defeated ahead of schedule.
