UFC Fight Night 260 tournament will be held on June 21, 2025 in Baku Crystal Hall
The main event of the evening will be a light heavyweight bout between Jamal Hill and Khalil Rountree. The match was originally scheduled for June at UFC 303, but was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Rountree was forced to withdraw after testing positive for a banned substance, which he self-reported, which could have resulted in a four-and-a-half-month suspension. Hill was also unable to compete due to injury.
Rountree, who has a record of 13-6, fought Alex Pereira for the world title in October and lost by knockout in the fourth round. The loss snapped a five-fight winning streak and has him ranked seventh in the UFC light heavyweight rankings. Hill, who is 12-3 and ranked fourth in the same rankings, has suffered two straight losses to Pereira and Jiri Prochazka. He won the world title in 2023 after defeating Glover Teixeira, but was forced to relinquish the belt due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.
The tournament in Baku will be the UFC's first trip to Azerbaijan and will be broadcast on ABC in the United States. The main event also includes a lightweight fight between Rafael Fiziev and Ignacio Bahamondes.
Viewers will also see the return of Kyoji Horiguchi, who has not entered the octagon since 2016. The Japanese fighter will face Russian lightweight Tagir Ulanbekov, who is ranked tenth in his weight class by the UFC.
The tournament will also feature two women's fights: Irina Alekseeva will face Claudia Sygula, and Daria Zheleznyakova will face Melissa Mullins. In the heavyweight category, we are expecting exciting confrontations: Hamdi Abdulvahhab vs. Mohammed Usman and Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev.
